Description
Viking strap end in Borre style from Birka / Björkö.
This true-to-detail replica of a Viking strap end in Borre style was made after the model of a historical belt buckle from Birka on the isle of Björkö / Sweden, which dates back to the 9th to 10th century.
Viking strap ends in this type were found very often and were common in Scandinavia, Gotland and Russia.
The Viking strap end from Birka has the dimensions 4.9 x 1.8 cm.
The strap end is therefore well suited for belts up to 2 cm wide.
The strap end replica is made of high-quality bronze and is also available in genuine silver plated.
Attachment:
As evidenced by original strap ends from the Viking Age, this replica also has two pins of 8 mm length on the back.
These are best bent slightly at the tip with round pliers and then simply beaten flat on the back of the strap with a hammer.
