This detailed replica of a four-piece strap distributor set from the Viking Age is based on a historical original from Gotland and dates to the 11th century.
The Viking Age strap distributor set consists of four parts, made of high quality decorative bronze or real silver-plated.
Ring and rivets are made of nickel-plated brass.
The individual strap distributors measures 3.5 x 1.8 cm. The ring has a diameter of 2 cm.
Suitable for straps with a thickness of 3 - 4 mm and a width of 2 - 3 cm. Double-headed rivets for fastening are included.
Distributors were widespread during the Viking era and can be found in Birka and on Gotland as well as in Russia and other Viking settlement areas.
In the Viking Age, strap distributors were used to distribute the individual straps of the sword hanger or the suspension for the sax and ensured that they hung at the optimum angle on the belt, ready to hand.
