Description
Fitting with a Viking gripping beast motif.
Here you can buy a Borre-style belt fitting that was modelled on a brooch from the Viking Age in Norway from the 9th century.
The depiction shows a so-called gripping beast, which was very characteristic for the art of the Borre-style.
The Borre style represents the second phase of the Nordic gripping beast style, this was particularly widespread in eastern Scandinavia in the 9th and 10th centuries. The Borre style is named after the grave find of Borre in Vestfold, Norway, where many finds in this artistic style were excavated
The expressive Viking fitting is available in high-quality bronze or genuine silver-plated.
Dimensions 2.5 x 2.5 cm.
Fastening: There are two short pins on the back of the Viking bronze fitting. To fasten the decorative rivets, simply pass them through corresponding holes in the leather. It is best to use pliers to bend the tip of the pin inwards a little. If you then tap the pins flat with a hammer, the tip sinks into the leather and the decorative rivet is attached to the belt in a stable and flat manner.
