Description
Viking buckle in Ringerike style for 4 cm width.
This expressive bronze Viking buckle was made according to the historical model in the so-called Ringerike style.
The historical model for this Viking-era belt buckle comes from a find from London that dates to the 11th century.
The original Viking buckle is now in the possession of the British Museum in London and was rather flat and triangular in shape. Our replica, on the other hand, is much more plastic and pleasing to the eye.
The Viking buckle "Ringerike" has the dimensions 6 x 3.6 cm.
Suitable for 4 cm wide belts.
The Viking buckle is made of high-quality bronze and is also available in silver-plated.
The Ringerike style is also called runestone style and is a Viking art style from Scandinavia that was widespread from the beginning to the second half of the 11th century. The Ringerike style is named after the Norwegian landscape Ringerike and is often found on carvings, jewellery and weapons as well as runestones of that era.
