I am delighted to announce the release of The long awaited Jarl Leather Body Armour…. And when I say long-awaited, this has genuinely been in development several years !!!!

A culmination of decades of searching for something that not only performs as any real armour should, but at the same time, a second skin you can rely on to dull those blows… Just like all my designs, never “just for show” I wanted the Jarl, to give its wearers, that sense of brotherhood passed down through history

The Jarl Armour is hand built to the highest standards by Black Raven Armoury’s master armorsmiths from the very best quality leather.

This armour which includes Body, Shoulders and Tassets, has been hand cut, hand embossed, stitched, riveted, dyed, antiqued and has a large scaled panel on the front with four further scaled tassets at the waist, complimented by an embossed and gilded collar along with gilded shoulder embossing, embossed banding on the chest and detailed edge embossing. We added extensive edge binding to all the potentially vulnerable areas to make this one of our toughest armours ever.

The Jarl Body and Shoulders are formed to a practical shape suitable for combat comfort and will fit chest sizes ranging from 40 – 56 inches (101 – 142 cm’s)

This armour is adjustable for fit at the both the sides and shoulders.

This armour is designed to be worn and used and is suitable for SCA and re-enactment and is detailed enough to be used on screen, it will stand up to close scrutiny and the sternest critique.

If you want to use this armour for LARP or costume use a small saving can be made to the overall cost, please select the LARP version

SCA Armours : All of our SCA armours are laminated to a minimum 6.5 mm- 1/4 Inch – 16 oz Thickness, many also have a degree of water hardening, this combination of hardened laminated leather is ideally suited to SCA and HEMA combat

LARP Armours : All of our LARP Armours are a minimum of 3.2 to  mm - 1/8 to 9/64 Inch - 8 to 10 oz Thickness, this is perfect for LARP and Cosplay events where any "combat" that occurs is non lethal and typically involves rubber covered foam weapons with plastic, or fiberglass cores. SCA Armours : All of our SCA armours are laminated to a minimum 6.5 mm- 1/4 Inch - 16 oz Thickness, many also have a degree of water hardening, this combination of hardened laminated leather is ideally suited to SCA and HEMA combat

Please be aware that all of the Armours Black Raven produces are hand made and finished to order, so please allow sufficient time ahead of your event when ordering.
