Introducing the Gudrid LARP Body Armour, a handcrafted leather armour inspired by the legendary explorer Gudrid from the sagas of Erik the Red. Much of it is steeped in legend, and we believe Gudrid herself would have admired the design and functionality of this armour.

Like all Black Raven Armours, the Gudrid Body Armour serves as true battle armour. Its layered leathers and fitted, contoured shape ensure that it performs as any real armour should, hugging the body while absorbing blows. And rest assured, these armours are not just for show – they imbue a sense of combat readiness in every wearer.

The Gudrid Body Armour, designed for the modern-day shield maiden, is one of our most practical designs. This full-length body armour fits chest sizes ranging from 36 to 40 inches and 40 to 44 inches, providing protection for the main body.

Every aspect of this armour has been meticulously handcrafted. It has been hand-cut, embossed, stitched, riveted, dyed, and antiqued, with each step of the process done by skilled craftsmen. The finished piece is adorned with embossed panelling and detailed edge embossing, adding to its unique aesthetic appeal.

What truly sets the Gudrid Body Armour apart is its durability. Extensive edge binding has been added to all potentially vulnerable areas, making this design one of our toughest armours ever.

LARP Armours : All of our LARP Armours are a minimum of 3.2 to  mm - 1/8 to 9/64 Inch - 8 to 10 oz Thickness, this is perfect for LARP and Cosplay events where any "combat" that occurs is non lethal and typically involves rubber covered foam weapons with plastic, or fiberglass cores. SCA Armours : All of our SCA armours are laminated to a minimum 6.5 mm- 1/4 Inch - 16 oz Thickness, many also have a degree of water hardening, this combination of hardened laminated leather is ideally suited to SCA and HEMA combat
