The Gunnar Leather Shoulders are one of our most striking pieces of armour

Designed with comfort and protection in mind by Alex Agricola, Black Raven Armoury’s founder the Gunnar leather Shoulders are tough leather shoulder guards often called a pauldron.

They Gunnar Shoulders are formed of multiple layers of premium grade top grain 3.2-3.5 mm Veg Tanned leather which have been hand-dyed and embossed with a stylish knot work design.

The Gunnar Leather Shoulders / Pauldrons are a perfect match for The Gunnar Leather Body, or can be work alone or with a number of accessories to create a variety of authentic, functional looks for a? multitude of characters and occasions.

Traditionally shoulders such as these would be worn to protect one’s shoulders from sword strokes, arrows and other bladed weapons.

This armour is designed to? be worn and used and is suitable for LARPING, re-enactment or theatrical use, detailed enough to be used on screen and will stand up to close scrutiny and the sternest critique.

LARP Armours : All of our LARP Armours are a minimum of 3.2 to  mm - 1/8 to 9/64 Inch - 8 to 10 oz Thickness, this is perfect for LARP and Cosplay events where any "combat" that occurs is non lethal and typically involves rubber covered foam weapons with plastic, or fiberglass cores. SCA Armours : All of our SCA armours are laminated to a minimum 6.5 mm- 1/4 Inch - 16 oz Thickness, many also have a degree of water hardening, this combination of hardened laminated leather is ideally suited to SCA and HEMA combat
