Description
Anglo-Saxon strap end from the Viking Age.
This replica of an Anglo-Saxon strap end is made in the so-called Winchester style, true to the details of a Viking-age model, and enchants with its filigree design.
A large number of Winchester-style strap end fittings have survived from Anglo-Saxon England, dating from the 10th-11th centuries and distinguished by their filigree and often openwork design.
The Anglo-Saxon strap end measures 4 x 1.9 cm and is suitable for belts 2 cm wide.
The strap end replica is made of high-quality bronze and is also available in genuine silver-plated.
Fastening:
As it is documented from Viking Age examples, the strap tongue replica has two pins of 8 mm length on the back.
These are best bent slightly at the tip with round-nosed pliers and then simply tapped flat with a hammer.
