Description
Viking belt mount with knot work motif.
Here you can buy a replica of a Viking belt mount in Borre style after a find from the Viking town of Birka from the 9th to 10th century.
Belt mounts were very common in Viking times and are often found in Viking fund material. Especially among the eastern Vikings in Sweden, Gotland and Russia, very richly studded belt fittings are often found as grave goods.
The dimensions of the belt mount are 1.5 x 1.4 cm.
The Viking belt mount with knot motif is available in bronze and real silver-plated.
Fastening: There are four bronze pins on the back of the Viking belt mount. To fasten them, simply insert them through the holes in the leather. It is best to use pliers to bend the tip of the pins inwards a little. If you then tap them flat with a hammer, the tip will sink into the leather and the mount will be stable and flat on the belt.
