The Viking strap connector consists of four parts and is made of high-quality bronze. The single strap connector has the dimensions: 3.5 x 1.8 cm. The ring has a diameter of 3 cm. Suitable for straps with a thickness of 3 - 4 mm and a width of 2 - 3 cm. Double-headed rivets for fastening are included. Strap connectors were widespread at the time of the Vikings and can be found in Birka and on Gotland as well as in Russia and other Viking settlement areas. The Vikings used strap connectors to distribute the individual straps of the sword hanger or also the suspension for the sax and ensured that they hung at the optimum angle on the belt, ready to hand.
