Description
Suspension for a Viking sax scabbard.
This set of fittings for the suspension of sax scabbards from the Viking Age were inspired by historical examples from the Viking town of Birka / Sweden.
Suspensions with a ring are known from several places of the Viking Age, including Birka and Gotland. They were used on Sax scabbards as a connection between scabbard and belt loop.
The scabbard suspension consists of a set of two fittings for sax scabbard and belt loop made of bronze and a connecting ring made of zamak.
Six brass double-headed rivets are included for easy mounting. A simple hammer is sufficient for fastening.
The fittings measure 4.2 x 2 cm, the ring 4.2 x 3 cm.
