Description
Viking belt end in the Borre style from Birka.
This detailed replica of a Viking strap end from Birka / Sweden was made after a find in Borre style, dating from the 9th to 10th century.
Viking Age strap ends of this type were found very frequently and were very common in Scandinavia, Gotland as well as in Russia.
The Viking strap end from Birka measures 5.2 x 1.4 cm.
The strap end is therefore well suited for straps up to 1.5 cm wide.
The strap end is made of high-quality bronze and is also available in real silver-plated.
Fastening:
As documented by historical examples, the Viking strap end has two pins 8 mm long on the back.
These are best bent slightly at the tip with round-nosed pliers and then simply tapped flat with a hammer.
