This true-to-detail replica of a Viking belt buckle was mad after a historical model from the Viking town of Birka in the so-called Borre style, dating to the 9th century.
The original Viking belt buckle was made of silver and was found on the island of Björkö in the Swedish lake Mälaren in burial 750.
The buckle shows very clearly the sculptured motif of a so-called gripping beast, which was dominant for the Viking Borre style during the 9th century.
The Viking belt buckle form Birka has the dimensions 5 x 3 cm and is suitable for belts of 2 cm width.
The buckle is made of high-quality bronze and is also available in genuine silver-plated.
