Description
The Odinson Leather Body Kit designed by Alex Agricola, is a tough leather armour with an attractive embossed centrepiece, it is one of our most popular designs and will fit a chest of 40-50 inches (101 – 127 cm).
This exciting new kit can be chosen with Raven or Wolf embossing or ordered without embossing for you to add your own details, the kit contains all of the leather, rivets and buckles needed to complete one armour, along with a set of fully illustrated instructions, all you require to build this armour is a hammer, a smooth hard surface to hammer against • Dome rivet setter – 3/8 inch (10mm) size • stitch groover • mallet • wire wool for antiquing • A small set of hole punches (shouldn’t be needed, but are always useful to have around) In addition a 5/64 inch (2mm drill) will be needed for stitch holes and a decorative embossing punch to detail the edges .Finally you can also use a random texture embossing stamp to add texture to the armour To finish the armour you will need a dye/stain to add the colour of your choice and resolene or similar to seal the leather against bad weather.
This armour is designed to be worn and used and is suitable for Renaissance Fairs, Larp, Re-enactment, film or theatre and can be upgraded to SCA regs simply following the steps below, it is detailed enough to be used on screen and will stand up to close scrutiny and the sternest critique.
To improve protection for SCA use we recommend gluing a heavy Suede (not included) to the inside of the armour

SCA rules state that heavy leather armour must be worn over .25 inch (6 mm) of closed-cell foam or equivalent padding.
